Income Overview

  • Total Sales: £157.89 / $205.26 approx
  • Total Expenses: -£843.96 / -$1,097.15 approx
  • Total Loss: -£686.07 / -$891.89 approx
  • The difference from last month: -£662.77 / -$861.60 approx

This month I made a big loss because I had big expenses with Freelancing.  After spending 3 months of trying to get my freelancing career, I have decided to stop trying to get a freelance career going .  I will go into more detail about it below.

I also started a big trip at the end of the month to Malaysia and Singapore.  So I spent quite a bit of time planning this trip as well.

Merch by Amazon

Merch by Amazon results for March 2018

I have made some good money from Merch by Amazon even though I have done a minimal amount of work using it.  As I was focusing full time on my freelance work.  So it is still amazing to get this amount of money from Merch by Amazon.

I will be focusing more on Merch by Amazon next month.

Stopping Freelance

After trying to get a Freelance Web Development going for 3 months, I have decided to stop it.

Finding work was taking a lot of time and not showing enough returns.

Also, the jobs that  I was getting were not worth doing as they offered little money for a lot of money.

I believe the main issue I had was that my profile was very new and I needed to build it up.  The best way to do this is by initially doing lots of jobs for low money.  Once you have developed this profile, this should enable you to attract the higher paying jobs.

As that would have taken a long time to do, I decided to give stop doing trying to get a freelance career.

This does not mean freelancing does work.  Just that it was not for me.

Freelance Costs

I had spent quite a bit of money to try and get my freelance career going.

The main costs were paying for subscriptions on freelance websites where you can bid on projects.  I had also spent money on advertising on these platforms – such as promoting my profile.

Although I managed to win a few jobs, the jobs were not the type of jobs I wanted as they were low paying and were quite complex.

Now that I have stopped freelance work, I will no longer have these costs.

Getting a full-time job instead

Now that I have decided to stop trying to get a freelance business, I will be getting a regular full-time job instead.  I will then continue my Muslim Hustle on the side and hope to eventually build it up to stage where I can leave my job.

Travel to Malaysia and Singapore

At the end of this month, I started a trip to Malaysia and Singapore.  This is something I am really excited about it and spent a bit of time this month planning it.

The main reason I am so excited is because of the Halal food available in these countries.  I love food and will be talking more it in the next month.

I will also be making videos and plan to post them on YouTube with tips for Muslims visiting these places.  As I have realised that I love creating videos and posting them on YouTube.

The feature image is me in Kuala Lumpur at the start of my trip.

April Goals

  • Film cool things while out in Malaysia or Singapore.
  • Create more t-shirts on Merch by Amazon

Wrap up

This month the big thing I decided was to stop trying to get a freelance career going.  This is after 3 months of trying to get my Freelance career going.

Freelancing was my full-time focus for the past 3 months.  So know I have decided to get a regular job and do my Muslim Hustle stuff on the side.

I have also been planning my trip to Malaysia and Singapore.  So I am really looking forward to that.  Once I get back to the UK, I will be getting more into Merch by Amazon and finding a full-time job.
